Collective Professional Voice and Advocacy
- To be a collective voice that can speak on behalf of its membership to publishers, funding councils, institutions and other relevant bodies.
- To defend the work of repository establishment and development and for the members to be on the lookout for supporting evidence, statistics etc.

Facilitate Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- To liaise with the members and information/service providers for provision of self-financing CPD activities.
- To facilitate members only discussion events.
- UKCoRR members have contributed significantly to the development of the SHERPA Repository Staff and Skills Set document which has proven to be a valuable resource for the repository community both in the UK and abroad.
Communications
- Communication between peers and from members to external groups and public.
- Communication facilitated through e-mail list and through meetings to provide networking and peer-2-peer support.
- Community webpage/portal to draw together professional resources for members.
- Facility for members to share experience, outputs, advocacy ideas, licences, templates, etc through website, communications, meetings.
Granular Levels of Support
- Support for formation of (possibly ad hoc) groups working on specific projects or in specific areas through website, communications, meetings.
Supporting the Membership
- Draw together information that is of direct use to UKCoRR members in their professional work: for example, key websites which relate to repository management like the SHERPA or RSP websites; or key resources, like the Repository Skill-Set document which was put together with UKCoRR members’ assistance.
- In 2011, UKCoRR carried out a membership survey to ask for ideas on the future direction of the organisation. The results have now been published.
- Providing a source of guidance to sources of further professional information and support for members.
